I've been MIA

Good morning everyone, it’s been a while since I last posted to the blog, and yes! I’m still alive. I did however feel like I was hit by a container truck going 60mph then rolled off a steep cliff and into shark infested waters.

You see, I’ve recently recovered from contracting Chikungunya. Don’t know what that is? Never heard of it? Well neither did I until a few months ago when it took the Caribbean by storm. While parts of Africa were battling Ebola, us here in the Caribbean were battling Chikungunya.

I was unable to walk for almost 3 days, and had severe joint pains and swelling throughout my entire body. Then there was the 104 °F fever that felt like my eyes were boiling in my head and just a hint of chills to mix things up a bit. Never in my life was it so difficult to do something as simple as squeeze a tube of toothpaste.

I would not wish this on anyone and if you have it in your area, you should run for the hills. Why do we even have mosquitoes? I’m sure there are a lot of other small flying insects in the food chain to substitute… Sigh

Ok, enough of that traumatic experience. I have received some great feedback on my posts so far, particularly the story about Reagan, and have even been asked by a few people to continue it. Even though I will continue to post random stories, (as this is my fortress of solitude for literary expression) I will try to also continue the story of Reagan as well.

As usual, your feedback is welcome and thank you for taking the time to view my blog and reading my stories.
